Job Description

Safaricom Investment Co-operative (SIC) an investment cooperative that pursues joint investment for its members, through real estate investments, Marketable security, and Private Equity. About The Role  

The Administrative Assistant shall be responsible for supporting the legal department and the organization at large in provision of legal services by providing assistance to the department, staff and clients.

What You Will Do

  • Responding to routine enquiries from staff and clients.
  • Updating and maintaining the Litigation data base/ Tracker
  • Receive, record and share for action all in-coming mail.
  • Opening court files and other client files, maintaining records, printing, photocopying and scanning documents.
  • Maintaining up to date records & relevant registers required in the legal department.
  • Bring up of files for action and drafting reminders where necessary.
  • Giving messages and delivering correspondence promptly.
  • Updating and maintaining the contracts data base.
  • Maintaining the filing system on the legal Management system by filing correspondence as well as support the Society's record keeping needs.
  • Review completed transaction client files and confirm that the files contain all transactional documents and are ready to be closed/archived.
  • Undertaking safe custody and retrieval of files in the registry.
  • Undertaking research as and at when called upon.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Law from a recognized institution.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a corporate organization or a law firm.
  • Experience in Records management.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Excel and computer.
